  1. Solar Eclipse happens when the new moon moves between earth and the sun while a lunar eclipse occurs when earth casts a shadow on the full moon.

  2. When the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, sun is partially or fully blocked by the Moon, this is when Solar Eclipse occurs. And in the similar way, Sun partially or fully blocks the sun in Lunar Eclipse.

  3. Lunar eclipse happens when the Earth is aligned in a perfect straight line between the sun and the moon. As a result, the moon is entirely shadowed by Earth, preventing any of the Sun’s rays from reaching the moon and causing it to turn a hint of red. On the other hand, Solar eclipse work in the same way except this time the moon is in middle, blocking Earth from the Sun’s light.
