theoretically, yes it seems that the cascading effect will be removed but don’t forget that VAT was also designed to nullify the cascading effect but there were a lot of short comings in that.
one main point of benefit in GST seems to be the provision of ITC – input tax credit which can also be availed for any goods or services ( except a few exceptions) purchased for the office like furniture, packing material, transport expenditure etc.
