the role of women in nationalist struggle women played a very important role in nationalist struggle all over the world they participated equally mostly in every movement’s they faced torture of police but still they stood by their male counterparts a large number of women participated activity in the political matter over the year .sometimes they led the movement also formed many political association founded newspaper and took part in political meeting and demonstration
The role of women in nationalist struggles:
1. Artistic representations of the French Revolution show men and women participating equally in the movement.
2. Liberty is personified as a woman.
3. Liberal nationalism propounded the idea of Universal suffrage , leading to women’s active participation in Nationalist movements in Europe.
4. Women had formed their own political Association founded newspapers.
5. Taken part in political meetings and demonstrations.
6. In France about 60 womens club came up in different friend cities.
7. Most famous was the society of Revolutionary and Republican women.
8. One of their main demands was to have some political rights as man had. They were however denied suffrage rights during the elections to the Assembly.
9 Although women had actively participated in National struggles they were given little or no political rights , and example being the Frankfurt parliament in the church of Saint Paul where women were admitted only as observes to stand in the visitors gallery.
