Metals are good conductor of electricity and heat, metals are ductile where as Non- metals are poor conductor, non- metalsare transparent, non-metals are present in solid and liquid forms.
Metals- They are good conductor of heat and electricity except Mercury.
They are malleable (can be beaten into thin sheet). Exception: sodium and potassium
They are sonorous ( make ringing sound if stricken with any object)
They are ductile (can be transformed into thin wires)
Non- Metals
They are poor Conductor of heat and electricity, however graphite is the only non metal which is a good conductor of electricity.
They are brittle in nature ( easily breakable) .Exception- Diamond ( hardest non metal)
They are non malleable
They are non sonorous
They are non ductile
